Following is a list of our standard terms and fees. McLaren Associates works with a number of clients in the Not for Profit, NGO and Charity sectors so we are happy to discuss a negotiated rate if you fall into this category or if you wish to engage us for multiple vacancies.
 

Selection Fees

The selection fee is calculated on the basis of 12.5% of the commencing annualised guaranteed remuneration which includes base salary, performance bonus/commission, plus GST.
 
This selection fee covers:
  • Role briefing with the client
  • Documenting of client requirements and delivery times
  • Identification of the required skills and competencies and assistance with formulating a position description
  • Advising on appropriate and market related remuneration ranges
  • Candidate sourcing via advertising, database and executive/technical searches
  • Initial screening
  • Shortlisting of candidates
  • Competency based interviewing
  • Generation of Candidate Reports
  • Interviews with selected candidates by the client
  • Reference checking
  • Negotation of offer with successful candidate
  • Unsuccessful candidates notified
  • Placement follow-up process

Contract Recruitment

When a permanent placement is not appropriate - or immediate staff cover is required - a contract fee will be negotiated. Should the candidate become a permanent staff member within twelve (12) months of placement, then the standard recruitment fee will apply, less the contract fee paid.
 

Part Time Vacancies

The recruitment process for part-time positions is identical to that of a full-time position, therefore the fee payable will be calculated accoring to the gross annual package based on full-time employment.
 

Contingency Fee

If an exclusive assignment is cancelled at any stage subsequent to candidate profiles being presented, then a fee equating to 60% of the anticipated fee will be incurred.
 

Disbursements

Tolls and cellphone calls, faxes, other administration charges including photocopying, bulk mail-outs, travel, airfares, accommodation and meals will be charged at the best available rate at cost.
 

Payment Conditions

Invoices are payable within seven (7) days of invoice unless otherwise negotiated with McLaren Associates.
 

Guarantee

We provide a guarantee of three (3) months for non-executive placements and six (6) months for executive placements for each appointment of a McLaren Associates candidate to a permanent position or pro-rated for a fixed term appointment. Should the appointee leave within this period, McLaren Associates undertakes to recruit a suitable replacement for the same position at its own expense (other than advertising costs) provided that:
  1. Fees have been received by the due date
  2. The appointee was employed in his/her area of expertise and has been undertaking tasks pertinent to the position for which he/she was recruited
  3. The reason for leaving is not due to any circumstance that is beyond the control of McLaren Associates (eg Redundancy, company closure or significant change in the position description)
  4. Reasonable time is given to source a replacement
Please note that our guarantee will be waived should a client decide to conduct the reference checking process directly and subsequently there is an issue regarding the appointed candidate's performance.
 
Please note also that guarantees do not apply to replacement candidates.
 

Advertising

All advertising content and costs for print and online media will be approved by the client prior to publication. We have a PSA with Haines Attract Limited and arrange all of our advertising through them. We have a dedicated Account Manager and preferred supplier rates equivalent to a 20% discount on public rates for print media. All advertising costs will be charged directly to the client's account at cost. No extra service fee will be payable.
 

General

Our normal selection fee applies if an applicant is referred to a client by our company, either verbally or in writing, and is employed by the client or its subsidiary/associate company in any capacity whatsoever within twelve (12) months of introduction.
 

HR Consulting

Any assignments for Human Resources Consulting will be negotiated on a project cost basis at an hourly rate to be agreed. These services cover:
  • Behavioural Event Interviewing - internal assessments
  • Career Counselling
  • Employee Relations
  • Human Resources Policies
  • Job Evaluation
  • Management Contracts
  • Management Training and Development
  • Remuneration and Salary Surveys
  • Work Planning and Appraisal Systems

Privacy Act

McLaren Associates maintains a comprehensive candidate database. However, in accordance with the Privacy Act, no names or details are incorporated in our database without the express approval of candidates. Similarly, no details pertaining to any candidate on our database are shared with any other party without the express approval of the individual candidate.
 
McLaren Associates' consultants and staff are conversant with their obligations under the Privacy Act and also the privacy procedures the company adheres to in its day-to-day business activities. These cover collecting candidate information, securely storing this information, accessing and correcting personal information, and the use and disclosure of personal information.
